Long Description : The stream and watershed GIS files function first as a representation of the stream network to be used in the NRI maps. Second the files were generated from NED data so the network fits well with the elevation and slope grids providing important stream and watershed analysis tools for this project and future work. The Natural Resource Inventory (NRI) for the MARC 8-county study region and incorporates a host of existing map data into a single theme. The stream network and related watershed shape files are a critical part of this effort. Stream and watershed shape files were generated from a mixture of 10 and 30 meter resolution data. At best this infomration should not be used for mapping or analysis at a user scale of greater than 1:24000. GAP data Time_Period_of_Content is current as of 1991. A more recent land use and land cover map would be very helpful. NWI Data Time_Period_of_Content ranges in from Feb. 1971 to Nov. 1997. Cadastral data Time_Period_of_Content is current to 2003. Cadastral data was used to help identify urban and non-agricultural areas.
